The Met Gala is one event on the social calendar that blows up our newsfeeds, highlighting look after look from some of the fashion’s elite. 2017 was no different, though we missed a few mainstays who never fail to wow us with their looks. While we were unable to marvel at the wonders that are Lady Gaga and Beyoncé this year, the line-up was anything but disappointing.
While some, like Rihanna, were able to channel the theme of the night that was based on the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons exhibition, others chose to go down the road that has been travelled often. Adriana Lima wore a black Alberta Ferretti gown and selected to wear earrings from Chopard featuring 5.85-carats of brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18k white gold from the “Imperiale Collection.”

Actress Lupita Nyong’o chose a coral organza chiffon strapless sheath gown. Embellished with hand cut organza flowers across the neckline, cascading down the back. Coral satin clutch and sandals accented with gold and stone embellishments from Prada. She complemented her orange off-the-shoulder gown with Tiffany drop earrings and four multi-coloured rings, including sapphire, yellow diamond and orange gemstone.

Julianne Moore in Calvin Klein by Appointment. She paired the gown with jewellery from Chopard such as earrings featuring 114.36-carats of yellow and orange sapphire briolettes, 4.61-carats of diamond briolettes, and .38-carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold from the “Copacabana Collection,” one ring featuring 41.68-carats of multicolor sapphires set in 18k rose gold, and the other ring featuring 6.06-carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold both from the “High Jewelry Collection”.

Dakota Johnson wore a Gucci Custom black silk moire gown featuring duchesse satin straps and three dimensional flowers with a full pleated taffeta and duchesse satin ruffle skirt, black satin platform high heels and a black lurex and silk jacquard evening clutch. She paired her look with emerald and diamond earrings from Cartier.

Selena Gomez wore a pale blush-colored silk chiffon featured vintage lace paneling complemented with a deep neckline. Hand-sewn prairie floral embroidery with multicolored sequins reference prints found in the Coach Pre Fall 2017 runway collection. Her jewellery was from non other than Tiffany & Co. She stunned on the carpet as she showed off a Tiffany Archival necklace with rhodolites and diamonds from the 1982 Blue Book collection, along with three Tiffany rings.
