Andaz Wall Street
New York, USA, January 2010
Andaz Wall Street marked the start of a busy year for Andaz, the first of several properties to open up in the US.
With a luxurious spa, 24 hour gym, signature restaurant and cocktail bar, the property offered something for both business and leisure travelers.
Armani Hotel

With suites costing up to 11,000 dollars for one night, Italian designer Giorgio Armani entered the hotel scene with a bang in the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper.
Designed in plain shades of black and brown, it occupies the bottom floors of the tower and also holds the world’s largest LCD television set.
The Oberoi Mumbai

The landmark Oberoi hotel reopened following massive renovations in the wake of the Mumbai bombings.
Two new restaurants were installed and all 73 suites and 214 guest rooms were refitted.
Trump SoHo
New York, USA, April 2010
Boasting the largest penthouse suite on the East Coast, an 11,000 square foot (1,021 square meter) spa with outdoor pool deck and bar, and personal chefs for the suites, the Trump SoHo’s 46 story tower is now a icon of New York City.

The massive Marina Bay Sands opened in June as Singapore’s second “integrated resort”, with 2,560 rooms, a shopping mall, casino and the towering “Skypark”.
Shanghai Peace Hotel

Fairmont‘s Peace Hotel was closed for three years as part of a project to restore it to its 1930’s glory.
Modern touches have been added but kitschy areas such as the Dragon Restaurant remain, along with a gallery of artifacts from the original property.
Kempinski Nile
Cairo, Egypt, July 2010
Cairo’s most luxurious property to date opened on the banks of the Nile in July, with four restaurants, spa, health club and butler services for guests staying in one of the 137 rooms.
Edition Waikiki
Honolulu, Hawaii, October 2010
The long-awaited boutique property by Marriott and Ian Schrager opened its doors to its first customers in October.
The property features a private beach, a nightclub and full service spa, along with a restaurant by famed US chef Masaharu Morimoto, the Morimoto Waikiki at EDITION.
The Savoy
London, United Kingdom, October 2010
London’s most famous property reopened its doors after a multi-million pound refurbishment.
Additions include nine new suites and new dining additions, along with more environmentally-friendly building features and a “green butler”.
NH Palacio de Tepa
Madrid, Spain, November 2010
The new luxury flagship from Spanish chain NH combines five-star luxury with a sense of history in the heart of bustling Madrid.
The hotel is built in the former palace of the Marqueses de Tepa and offers 85 guestrooms, two restaurants under Michelin-starred Paco Roncero, a spa and gym.
Shangri-La Paris

Shangri-La made its much-anticipated debut in the French capital as the last major opening of the year.
Its new Paris property offers 81 rooms and three restaurants (two opening in 2011), in the former residence of Prince Napoleon Bonaparte.
